Layla Carolyn Hanvey Has Arrived!!!

I am now a big sister and I love it. My little sister, Layla (or "Laya" as I like to call her), arrived on November 23, 2011 at 9:03 a.m. She was 6 ponds 6 ounces, 19 1/4 inches and adorable. She slept a lot her first week here, but is starting to wake up more now.

This was her first photo, but the way (courtesy of Daddy).

Wedding Weekend

Last weekend we all went down to San Antonio for Melissa and Joseph's Wedding. It was very fun. I played with bubbles, swang on a giant swing outside, ran down a huge hill (many times) and danced my booty off. I loved i! Congrats Melissa and Joseph!

My Modeling Days...

My dad got a new camera.
We bought a new lens.
And it has been MUCH cooler in Texas these days.

Needless to say, I am working on my modeling.

(Also working on my tree climbing - this is much harder than it looks!)

Mexican Vacation! (And Little California Beforehand)

Mommy, Daddy, and I just got back from a week-long trip to Puerto Vallarta. It was great!
I held a monkey on my head, kissed a dolphin, and swam in the ocean.

I had some great blue candy. It took a few teeth brushings that night to get me back to my pearly whites...

Our housekeeper loved me and kept me well stocked with towel animals.

Before Mexico, I got to go to Santa Cruz with YaYa, Opa Horst, Esther, Moses, and Aunt Nancy. Thanks for playing in the sand with me Esther (and thank you for all the rides Opa). I even rode a couple of roller coasters!

I also got to see my Grandpa Doug and ate blackberries off a bush in his backyard.

And I'll leave you with a clip of me dancing in the nightly kid's show! By far, my favorite part of the trip.

Pool Parties and Dentist

This year for Fourth of July we went down to Austin to visit Grandpa Steve, Grandma Shea, and "BrockandZane." I had such a fun time. We tie-dyed tee shirts, went swimming at Aunt Dena's, and made a strawberry and Blueberry flag cake. It was great!
I absolutely loved this (although mom had a heart attack every time we did it!):

I also went to the dentist this week. It was my second time, but really more like my first. I completely refused to open my mouth with the first dentist, but this new place was great. I got to play with everything, they gave me toys, baloons, and stickers, and they even took pictures of my teeth. I did super and got an A+ on my brushing and flossing (although none of my teeth touch so I dont quite floss yet...).

Summer Fun

Hi there everybody!

I know that it has been a while since I last posted, but my have I been a busy girl...

First of all, I have some very exciting news. I am going to be a big sister by the end of this year. We are expecting my little sister or brother the week before Christmas, but we'll see when s/he arrives. Here is a photo of the little guy or girl (we aren't sure which yet...).Although I did kiss mommy's tummy last night and say "my little brother..." I may know something mom and dad don't...

I have also been busy enjoying this Texas summer. We have had lot's of visitors lately. My Grandma Kookaburra came to visit and we went to the waterpark. Check out the videos below. I have also seen my Aunts Nancy and Deborah and my Great Aunt Bonnie all this past weekend. It has been fun!

Here I am floating the lazy river with Grandma - it was a bit bumpy!

And this is me in the wave pool. I am becoming such a big girl - Swim lessons, here I come!

I promise to post more photos later. I hope you all are having as much fun as I am.

Easter Weekend

This weekend we went down to Austin to visit Grandpa Steve, Mama Shea, and Brock and Zane. I had so much fun and have been asking for everyone ever since we got back to Dallas - I sure miss them. I did all of the regular Easter traditions and even made a few new ones. Check it out below!

Easter egg hunts on the front lawn...

I really liked to smash the eggs into my basket.

Needless to say, there were no eggs to eat...

A Crayola colored bubble adventure.

Those bubbles have some bright colors and serious staying power!
Check out Brock and my tee shirt creations!
(I was not a huge fan and wanted to wash my hands every time I got a spot on them - this expression says it all.)

A giant chocolate bunny in my Easter dress (thank you YaYa!)

I did my hair myself and was in a pretty silly mood.

Dying eggs all by myself!

(well almost, all by myself...)

And this was not Easter, but mom loves the photo.

Boy do I love frosting!

Princess Party at the Dallas Arboretum

Early this morning we got up and went to the Dallas Arboretum for a Princess Party.
It was really fun. I made this crown and flower and ate a brunch with about 100 other little princesses. Then we got to go visit all of the castles that are now up at the Arboretum.

Grooving my shades

Inside one of the castles

Crashing another family's photo (In all fairness it did say "Exit Princess"...)

And yet another castle...

Do princesses really need all these straps?

Fashion 101...

This morning I had some one-on-one girl time with Mom and my dress up trunk. I am quite the expert when it comes to fashion (and we all know that Mom can use some advice in this area). Here are just a few of my tips...

Purple is always in style. The more purple the better.
Pink pearls are always a good accent piece.

Polka dots are in this season.

A nice "Princess" sash and cupcake purse complete the look.

Feather boas can add elegance to something as simple as pajama bottoms.
And ladies, don't forget the feathers and jewewls on your heels.

This is a nice look for a night on the town with Dolly.
A good satin dress with all pink accessories, including a floral headband.

And finally, I'll leave you with what I call the "Princess look."
All you need is a pink tiara and a wand.
I hope you liked all my tips!
